March walk

Springing into March was deferred due to worsening conditions between the recce and the event.

Plenty of intervening rain suggested that the early stages of the planned walk may have become too taxing for all so a plan B was agreed. The previously circular walk became a linear one with motor transport to a new start point high in the Llantisilio hills and returning on foot to the original destination in Carrog.

Sadly, the same intervening weather rendered conditions very misty which obscured the fine views previously enjoyed on the recce a couple of days earlier. The only photos available are from the recce when March hares were spotted and the walkers were joined by a Red Admiral butterfly as they lunched.

An exhilarating downhill walk was enjoyed by all and the very hospiatable Grouse Inn provided an excellent resting place to consume our prepacked lunches.

Special thanks are due to Maria for providing a willing recce support at very short notice.

Pete

Our Spring became more of a downhill Sprint. The chilly wind kept us on the move!
