Three of us ventured out in the sunshine for this month's walk from Llandegla tp Llyn Cyfynwy on the Llandegla moors.

Starting along Offa's Dyke we moved slowly up along the River Alun and then into woods and fields until we got to the lake.

The lake itself was a slightly sorry sight. We should really have been getting our feet wet as we made our way along the edge, but the water level was so low we had a wide beach to walk on. As the lake is only two metres deep in the centre, I suppose that shouldn't have been a surprise given the drought this summer.

  And of course, you can't go to the lake without visiting the old trig point a short distance away. It was a bit of a scramble, but aided by someone having thoughtfully attached a knotted rope to the trig point giving us a lot more purchase as we went up.

Unfortunately, Pete was unable to find a circular route, so we returned the way we came.
