There were nine of us meeting up at Rhug at 11am. We decided that 2 cars would be enough for our journey. We had allowed 90minutes for our journey which we expected to take not much more than 1 hour. This was fortunate because there had been a crash just north of Llanrwst which closed the road and gave everyone quite a long detour. When we arrived at Venue Cymru we were only slightly late for our booking for lunch in their café. From there it was only a matter of gathering our party together including some who didn’t join us for lunch, making our total of 10 people. I was a little unsure about the seats we had booked but as it turned out we had an excellent view of the stage.
The lights went down and we watched the very professional performance of Mamma Mia. Everyone enjoyed it and most were on their feet singing along with the finale as were almost the whole of the audience.
As we were leaving one of the members commented that the performance was every bit as good as a West End production. When I got home, I checked online to find that our tickets were little more than 1/3 of the price for the seats in the London showing of Mamma Mia.
Although we started off on our return journey going slowly through rush hour traffic, once clear of Llandudno our journey was uneventful thankfully
Thank you to both the ladies would drove us to Llandudno and calmly retraced our steps when we encountered the roadblock. They still managed to get us there in good time.
